Happy Feature Friday everyone! In case you missed my previous post Jordan (aka DJ Fayze) is my newest sponsor and this week we have him sharing his top 15 hits for summer! Summer isn’t complete without great music to keep you energized while you are out boating, camping, or having a BBQ so DJ Fayze did some research to bring you his top picks to have the best summer ever!
Be sure to hit him up on Facebook or his personal webpage to see more of his work or to hire him for an event you have coming up this summer.
Thanks for the introduction Chandler! Something I do every single day is download new music. I have to constantly rotate the music on my iPhone because it won’t all fit! Usually artists save a lot of their best new releases for May or June in hopes of attaining the next “summer hit”. The sad thing is 1 or 2 of those songs get over played on the radio that we miss out on so many other songs that we would all love! So here are 15 songs that I think will make that summer hit list!
1. Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix) – OMI
This one is at the top because it is already climbing to #1. If you haven’t heard it by now I guarantee you will soon! It is upbeat, catchy, and easy to remember. I had never heard of OMI before hearing this song and I am glad I found them. Make sure you check out the Felix Jaehn version because the original isn’t nearly as exciting.
2. Bad Girls – MKTO
I love MKTO. This song capitalizes on the new trend of putting saxophones and trumpets in hip-hop songs and it’s done really well. The lyrics are half sung, half rapped, and go great over the banging beat.
3. If I Said I’m In Love (Suicide) – Mizgin
Choppy lyrics and trippy beats make this song really easy to remember. The chorus is one of those ones where everyone in the room loudly sings at the top of their lungs!
4. I don’t like it, I love it – Flo Rida ft. Robin Thicke
A groovy beat with a simple whistling chorus. Flo Rida throws his typical rap style over the music and Robin Thicke’s smooth voice over provides a great pre chorus vocal.
5. Gibberish – MAX ft. Hoodie Allen
This song definitely needs to be higher up on the list and it is my current go to workout jam. It is another one of those songs that uses instruments over the hip hop beat. The chorus is just a nonsense string of syllables that is oh so catchy!
6. Fight Song – Rachel Platten
If you need a pick me up this is the song. Rachel Platten is joining Taylor Swift a lot lately and her main song is turning into an anthem for those who don’t want to give up when life gets them down. Send me an e-mail for my personal edit of the song!
7. King – Years and Years
Whenever I hear the beginning words of this song I think of Michael Jackson. I’m not sure which genre this song fits in just yet so for now it will just be in the “Feel Good” genre.
8. Dazed and Confused – Jake Miller ft. Travie McCoy
A true head noddin’ and bobbin tune! Pretty cliche with him falling in love (or lust) with a girl at the club but the tune just sticks with ya.
9. Go big of Go home – American Authors
This song stays true to American Authors style. They expertly combine guitars and a banjo with heavy drums that make you want to jump up and fist pump at the same time.
10. Back it Up – Prince Royce ft. Pitbull
This song is textbook Prince Royce and Pitbull with a great Latin beat to keep you dancing.
These last 5 songs are my newest discoveries so I don’t have a full description yet but they are just as amazing as the last 10 songs. Make sure to add them to your playlist and all of your friends will be jealous of your new music collections.
11. Around the World – Natalie La Rose ft Fetty Wap

12. Someone New – Hozier

13. You just want my Money – Jason French

14. Pretty Girls – Brittney Spears ft Iggy Azalea

15. Beautiful Life – Nick Fradiani
