Hey guys! I thought today would be the perfect day to introduce myself since I’ve seen a lot of growth the past couple of months, and it’s the first day of September, and I got a new blog layout! My name is Chandler Larsen and I am the main author behind Life as a Larsen along with my husband Dakota. I answered a few questions to you can get to know us better so hope you enjoy and feel free to drop questions in the comments below!

Who are the Larsen’s?  We are Dakota and Chandler Larsen! Dakota is 25 and currently working at a troubled youth facility with ambitions to become a paramedic. I am Chandler Larsen and I am 22. I work for SkyWest Airlines and have plans to become a licensed family and marriage therapist. We both love the outdoors, being crafty, and making memories with our friends and family.

What kind of posts can we find on your blog? Life as a Larsen is considered lifestyle so you can find a little bit of everything! DIY projects, recipes, motivation, photography, reviews, you name it.

What do you like to do in your spare time? I love being outside and exploring! But when it is too hot or too cold for that you can usually find me watching Netflix, taking photos, or playing with my nephew Sajen.

Random facts about me: I am allergic to fruit including watermelon (que tears and shock). I have a really long second toe (like freakishly long you guys!) that I am so subconscious about! I am a contracted model who doesn’t do a lot of jobs. My dream job would be becoming an archaeologist and studying ancient Egyptian culture or an event planner. I have never broken a bone and my favorite food is rice. I love rice.

Things to brag about: I have sung many times at Disneyland and Knottsberry Farm, I was Senior Ball Queen, I can fly the world for free, and I am married to the greatest man on Earth. Sorry ladies!

What got you into blogging? I first started when I was in middle school. I wanted a journal that I could never lose and I also wanted to be able to stay in touch with all my cousins and friends without having to call them individually each week. Since then it has evolved into this beautiful thing!

What do you love about blogging? I love the people that I get to connect with and being able to share my talents with others! I have met so many amazing people and learned so much about myself and other things through blogging. The blogging community is so supportive and positive.

Hobbies and Interests: So many but my staples would have to be singing, Netflix, and hiking. I am way interested in psychology, specifically mental disorders, and anything ancient Egyptian/Myan. Random I know but it’s so fascinating.

So that’s basically me! Thanks for stopping by and for helping me be a better blogger. Let me know what you think of the new layout and if you want to see me do any specific posts!

  1. Nice getting to know you just a little bit better.

I used to be allergic to all fruit but that has since gone away (thankfully!), although I still remain allergic to lychee and grapes.

  2. Oh man I am jealous! I get more allergic as I get older. It used to just be watermelon and now its every melon, pineapple, and bananas too! I think I would die without grapes. Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Well you will never run out of work to do with mental health disorders. I used to work for NAMI and I did outreach. I loved it. It was a grant job. Hopefully you'll be a therapist in the future and you can help families dealing with mental illness!

  4. Loved getting to know you better! After college I wanted to go work for an airline and then I went to law school instead. Wrong choice! 😉

  5. Ha love all these random facts! Did you grow up in southern california? I grew up about 15 minutes from Knott's Berry Farm and don't know many people outside California who know what it is. Always love meeting a fellow Californian (even though I live in the Midwest). Love your blog design too! So cute!

  6. I had no idea you were a singer?! What the. Also, my brother is allergic to melons and avocados and I always thought that was the most random thing ever and that he was the only one who had that problem! So I'm sure he will be happy to know that he's not alone haha.

  7. You seem so cool and interesting! I didn't catch if you were from California, but I'm assuming so because you sing at Knotts and Disney. I'm from California too! I really like this layout it's super clean. Look forward to more posts!

  8. You didn't? Haha that's so funny! I guess I haven't done much with it since I started working at Sunrise…your brother is allergic to melons too? Man we should be friends!
